Music Outreach News for Howard Community College in Columbia, MD

On Friday, May 4, at 7:00 PM, jazz faculty Kyle Coughlin will be the guest soloist with the River Hill High School jazz ensemble. The concert will also feature his quartet with HCC faculty Jeff Reed on bass, and special guests Benjie Porecki on organ and Christian Stengle on drums. All are invited to this free concert.

HCC voice faculty Deborah Kent will be joined by piano faculty David Wasser in a concert entitled Partners in Revolution: The Music of France and America. They will perform Ariettes Oubliées and Trois mélodies by the great French impressionist Claude Debussy, as well as works by American composers Leslie Bennett and Richard Hundley.

The HCC Singers and HCC-Bain Center Senior Choir, Student Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Cello Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra all perform their end of semester concerts. There will also be student solo and chamber performances, as well as a clarinet recital by HCC art professor Jane Winer.
